Hi, I'm Sarah.

Some friends call me Rita, some call me Sorcha, but my favorite name over the years has always been Sarah. Although I love my name, I don’t love talking about myself — but I do love talking to myself. So, I decided to start a blog. A place where I can talk to myself, through a screen… to you.

I never thought I’d blog. Where do I begin? What do I write about? Who even cares what I have to say? The five W’s can feel intimidating at first, but when you actually sit with them, they become pretty inspiring. They help bring clarity to chaotic thoughts and give everything a little more purpose.

So if you’re wondering, why start a blog now? — great question. My husband (we love him for this) encouraged me to channel my creative energy into something more personal than my 9-to-5. Beyond talking to myself in a more acceptable way, I want to be another voice on the internet that actually helps. Maybe you’re planning a trip, figuring out a wedding, or just going through something and need a post that feels more human than a generic Google search.

So, I’m Sarah — and I’m starting a lifestyle blog while living life off script. Let’s lay the foundation using, you guessed it, the five W’s:

Who?

My name’s Sarah. I’m 31, a newlywed, a new puppy owner, and (hopefully soon) a mom-to-be. Inside my 9-to-5, I’m a producer for photography and video. Outside of work, I love to travel, cook, plan (everything), and clearly, talk to myself. Now, I’m using this blog to talk to you.

What?

This is a lifestyle blog for readers looking for honest, creative, slightly chaotic content on:

  • Wedding planning

  • All things travel

  • Favorite recipes

  • Personal journal reflections

Basically, this is a digital journal filled with real-life experiences, the questions I ask myself, and the everyday moments that make up life.

Where?

This blog is coming to you live from New Jersey — where I was born, raised, and where I hope to raise a family of my own. I’m a Jersey girl through and through (minus the college years in Maryland), and I’m proud of it. I live about an hour from the Jersey Shore, NYC, and Pennsylvania — a perfect trifecta of inspiration.

You can read new posts here on my website and over on my Substack, if you prefer your chaos in newsletter form.

When?

According to my older sister, I have commitment issues — not in relationships (I knew I was marrying my husband within a few months), but in less serious situations like:

“Wanna get dinner Friday?” — Maybe.“What are you doing September 3rd?” — Beats me, it’s June 30th…

That said, you can expect a new blog post monthly. Maybe bi-monthly if I start talking to myself too much.

Why?

While walking through Madrid on my honeymoon (more on that soon), I remembered something we all tend to forget: I have free will. So why not use it to write?

I’m a firm believer in the motto: “Prior preparation prevents poor performance.” I know — very nerdy. But I love to plan, I love to prep, and I love reading about other people’s experiences to get inspired or just find a starting point. I hope this blog becomes that place for you — a blog that inspires, helps, or simply makes you feel less alone as you figure things out off script.

Phew. First post done. Probably the hardest one, too.

Thanks for being here. I hope you’ll come back, subscribe to my newsletter (once I figure out how to set it up), and stick around for more stories — grammar mistakes and all.

Talk soon. Maybe...

- Sarah
